CARE AND WASH

INSTRUCTIONS

Hello there, SPYKE fan! Thank you for purchasing our products. We intend to make them serve you in perfect condition for many ongoing years. Please take a look at this short instruction, how to take care of your SPYKE gear.

STORAGE & CARE – LEATHER GARMENTS

  1. After each use, it is recommended that dirt and flies are removed by wiping the garment with a damp cloth.
  2. For stains that are difficult to remove, use the neutral soap and water or a cleaner specific to leather motorcycle clothing. Dry the garment afterwards using a towel. Do not use hot water or any other type of cleaner or solvent.
  3. It is not recommended to use the leather garment in the rain – over time this will cause the leather to dry out and lose its strength and softness.
  4. If the garment does get wet, allow it to dry naturally. Do not attempt to wring it out or place it in direct sunlight or next to any direct heat source over 40˚C.
  5. For storage, the garment should be hung vertically (using the supplied hanger) in a cool dry place away from direct sunlight. It allows the garment to retain the correct shape.

STORAGE & CARE – TEXTILE GARMENT

  1. After each use, it is recommended that dirt and flies are removed by wiping the garment with a damp cloth or wet sponge.
  2. For difficult stains, warm soapy water may be used. Do not use any other cleaner or solvent.
  3. Textile garments may be submerged and hand washed – however the impact protectors must be removed beforehand.
  4. For storage, the garment is best hung vertically using the supplied hanger in a cool dry place.

MAINTENANCE

  1. Check the garment after each use for areas of excessive material wear and any damage to zip or other fasteners. If there is visible wear or holes in the material, or fastener does not function correctly, these will require the garment to be repaired or replaced.
  2. In case of an accident, the garment must be thoroughly inspected for signs of damage. Abrasion damage and holes in the fabric and/ or seams require the garment to be repaired or replaced. In case of an impact on the body, even though there is no visible damage to the garment, the impact protector should be removed, inspected for damage, and if in doubt replaced.
  3. If the garment requires shipment, it should be placed inside a polythene bag and then inside a cardboard box, to prevent it from becoming damp or crushed during transport.
  4. The impact protectors are certified to EN1621-1. They must be exchanged for the same model. They must not be exchanged for other protectors or protectors from other manufacturers.
